Country manager search for Clinton Foundation
Clinton Foundation and Egon Zehnder International India

Established by former U.S. President William J. Clinton, the foundation is a charitable organization that aims to strengthen the capacity of leaders to meet the challenges of global interdependence. The foundation develops projects and partnerships throughout the world in four main areas, including health security, economic empowerment, leadership development and citizen services, as well as racial, ethnic and religious reconciliation.

After expanding its HIV/AIDS Initiative, the Clinton Foundation turned to Egon Zehnder International for support in identifying and hiring a country manager for India to spearhead its AIDs/HIV related programs and partnerships in the country. The target pool of candidates consisted of individuals with solid experience in a philanthropic (medical) organization coupled with a proven track record in business, leadership and general management.

Egon Zehnder International’s consultants were rapidly able to provide the Foundation with a shortlist of suitable candidates. The successful candidate has led cross-functional teams in a wide range of sectors including healthcare, textiles, synthetics and consumer goods. With a strong business orientation, he also has excellent commercial and entrepreneurial skills. Moreover, he commissioned the cardiac department of a leading Indian hospital chain in a record period of 18 months, which included effectively selling this greenfield healthcare project to financial investors.

To express its support of the foundation’s aims, Egon Zehnder International India conducted this search as a pro-bono assignment.
