India experience attracts top expat talent The Wall Street Journal
India has replaced China as the hot destination for ambitious expats, reports The Wall Street Journal. According to Rajeev Vasudeva, a consultant at Egon Zehnder International, New Delhi, around 1,000 expat senior managers are currently based in India, a sevenfold increase compared to two years ago. “If you are doing well, you will come to India,” to gain valuable experience, explains Vasudeva. A large number of the expats are U.S. citizens of Indian origin that have a proven track record with Western companies. Expats not of Indian descent need to be highly adaptable to succeed in India’s culture, the U.S. financial daily concludes.
